Data You Need When You Need Them
We are pretty sure that since you have visited us you have important questions that require answers as soon as you can get them. In our experience the data are often available but difficult to locate. In other circumstances some work is needed to generate the statistics by accessing large scale survey data files. If the data exist we can probably help you find them fast and at no cost. If not, we can tell you what it would take to get them.
Over the past year we have been focusing on data from the American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS is a very big survey, more than three million households per year. It takes the place of the old Census long form questionnaire. These days when you see an article that references the Census Bureau it is most often based on data from the ACS. The ACS questionnaire covers a huge range of topics. We do them all and specialize in household income and earnings. As the plumbers say, "No job is too large...or too small."
